Marcion – c.84-160 CE. Marcion was the son of the
bishop of Sinope. Marcion established his own sect in
144 CE based on his idea that the God of the Tanakh
was different and inferior to the God of the Messianic
Scriptures. He was excommunicated for this heresy.
